Lavender has always been my thing! In the 80's everything I owned had to be lavender: radio, clothes, shoes, room and being just 6 I thought it was just a color:) It wasn't until I was in college that I realized it was a beautiful herb! (crazy right? but here in Florida lavender just doesn't grow so well so I never saw it) Once I saw Lavender in a shop I was really in love! Lavender wasn't just a color but a gorgeous herb rich in meaning and fragrance and I just knew this is something I wanted to explore! I started making lavender wreaths, and before long I had sold my first 100! So 12 years later and I'm still playing with lavender! Here are just a few of our latest lavender creations for 2017! We think they are just perfect for many occasions and really give a rustic countryside feel to your home or event. Stay tuned for more coming in spring 2017! What do you think? My favorite recipe to make is cauliflower with sausage, pasta, and pecorino cheese, and after finding this beautiful purple cauliflower at the farmers market I thought I would try it, with a purple twist (we all know how purple obsessed i am:)
Super simple ingredients, super easy to make, just 2 pots needed!
1 pound apple chicken sausage ( or mild italian)
1 head of purple cauliflower
1 clove of garlic
1/2 cup of pecorino romano cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 carton chicken broth
1 pound of pasta (shells or orcechette)
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Sprig of thyme (optional)
Cut or kitchen sheer your sausage into slices and saute them with a little olive oil until cooked through.
Meanwhile cook your pasta according to the directions.
To your sausage pan, add onions and saute until tender then add in diced clove of garlic and saute until tender as well.
Add your cut up cauliflower and sprig of thyme if you like, into the same pan and pour your chicken stock up until it's almost at the top of your cauliflower pieces.
Cook on medium until a fork inserted into cauliflower goes through easily, nice and tender. Take out the sprig of thyme.
Strain your pasta and add it to the pan, and mix in the delicious pecorino and bread crumbs..
This will absorb the stock and turn it into a creamy coating of yumminess!
Taste, add a pinch of salt and pepper, and a pinch of hot peppers if you like. Garnish with a few sprig leaves.
Desert for your skin...Devine Vegan Deodorant. A best seller $10.00
Son to Mommy, "Why do you smell like cupcakes?" MMM!" This after a morning outdoors in the florida sun! And says it all about this devine line of vegan deoderant. This veggie deodorant works by neutralizing odor from perspiration and by destroying microbes with its antiseptic action. It doesn't interfere with sweating which is a natural cooling process, but it combats and kills odor-causing bacteria.
This paraben-free, alcohol-free deodorant comes in a practical 2.5oz stick container. IT WORKS! Free of aluminum or bactericides.
~Why choose a deodorant over an antiperspirant?
Almost every antiperspirant on the market contains nasty amounts of aluminum and chemicals to stop you from perspiring. Our underarm area allows the body to cleanse and detoxify itself along with helping to regulate the body’s temperature by the release of sweat. Blocking this natural mechanism with an anti-perpirant could cause a build up of toxins in your system that can aggravate and possibly cause serious problems.
Choose from the following devine scents:

At the gathering garden we are all about celebrating the season! And we think #valentinesday is one of the least popular decorating seasons, but one of the easiest and most romantic to decorate for! There may not be quite as many options as the other seasons, and sure Valentine's Day is pretty much all about chocolate, I'm not complaining about that:) but a day so romantic deserves at least a couple weeks to enjoy it the right way.
--Think Color and sentiment when it comes to decorating for Valentine's Day!--
Adding a touch of pink, purple, or a rustic red to your home by way of a lovely floral wreath, like our Mama's Garden wreath above or fresh flowers is a simple way to add a romantic feel that will last you right through spring!
We love pillows! They are the quickest way to completely change the look of a room. Adding a few love inspired pillows to the living room and bedroom is a fun way to make your home feel cupid ready!
Little details tucked away inside bookcases, atop mantles, and entryway tables give the room a bright lift! These wooden valentine's day blocks are versatile and can be used in many ways (my kids will probably literally use them as blocks:) but they can be stacked and separated maybe with some fresh flowers or a wreath behind them.!
We love the idea of gifts that can be used not just for 1 season but for all seasons! This great wooden tic tac toe board doubles as a great Valentine's Day romantic gift right? Your family will love having this out for February, but you'll probably see them playing with it for much longer than that!
