Imagine for a moment that you have no money for a blanket to swaddle your baby in when they are born, no hat for their tiny head, no pads to endure the weeks of bleeding after you give birth. We are so very fortunate to be living in a country that regardless of how much you have will deliver your baby and provide the basics for you. Lucky to live in a country where we have baby showers, baby registries, second hand shops. But imagine we didn't have those things, and imagine before you deliver your baby you had to buy these things and you have no way. That's exactly what many women in some parts of Africa go through. They are required to have these basic essential things and many women choose not to get medical attention and assistance with their deliveries because they're embarrassed that they have no way to pay for them. That's where you come in! read on to see how...(the following is taken direct from everymothercounts.org, visit them to learn more)

We were bound and determined to discover a new side of Florida this spring break. I love the countryside, hence our business la campagna (which means countryside in Italian) so I thought we would explore florida's countryside!
There aren't many options as far as luxury accommodations in the middle of nowhere so we decided on lakeland Florida to be our base for our outings. The beautiful terrace hotel was the perfect place to stay.
Our first stop in the morning was ridge island groves, to pick oranges and tangerines straight off the tree. The weather was perfect, oranges ripe, and the owners such a delight. Free samples of juice and oranges are the perfect touch after being out in the grove.
We then headed to Bok Tower gardens. truly this was one of the most magical beautiful places we've ever been to! beautiful green lawns decorated with the most amazing gardens you've ever seen! Orange blossoms can be smelled in the distance. In fact the drive to Bok towers is listed as one of the most scenic drives you will ever take, pure florida! www.boktowergardens.org
In the evening we had a beautiful evening at an old fashioned drive in movie theater to see the Lego movie:) Silvermoon drive in lakeland Florida is a wonderful little attraction to see! Pizza and movie stand goodies served up in their cafe. Tune into their radio station to hear the movie in your car, and watch the movie under the stars. Best night!
Next day was a rainy day so we took advantage and headed to Lakeland discovery children's museum. A cute little spot for the kids to pretend grocery store pretend Orange Grove factory and let loose before our trip home. Keep your eye out and you catch a Groupon deal for half off!
The discovery v children's museum is located in downtown lakeland and close to a wonderful array of mom and pop restaurants and shops.
Our trip to central florida, lakeland, lake wales, haines city was a fabulous little getaway close to home! Have you been to a great small town in central florida and have a travel tip? We'd love to hear it! Until our next adventure!
